# Name Matching Across Multiple Campaigns

The **Enable name matching across multiple campaigns** feature allows ReferralHero to match an advocate's name across multiple campaigns in your account. This is useful when the same advocate may participate in more than one campaign.

### How To Enable Name Matching Across Multiple Campaigns

1. Go to your campaign dashboard > Edit Campaign > Options
2. Enable **Enable name matching across multiple campaigns**
3. Under **Match against these campaigns**, select the campaigns you want ReferralHero to check for matching advocate names
4. You can select any number of campaigns
5. Click Save

The campaign where the referral is submitted is always included in the matching process. The campaigns selected under **Match against these campaigns** are checked in addition to the current campaign.

There is no priority or order among the selected campaigns. All selected campaigns are checked equally.

### How Matching Works

When a user submits an advocate name through a campaign's widget, ReferralHero checks the name against advocates in the current campaign and all campaigns selected under **Match against these campaigns**.

* **No Match:** If no matching advocate is found, a new advocate and referral are created in the campaign where the user submitted the referral.
* **Single Match:** If a matching advocate is found in exactly one campaign, the referral is automatically attached to that advocate in the campaign where the advocate was found.
* **Multiple Matches:** If the same name matches different advocates across more than one campaign, ReferralHero does not automatically attach the referral. Instead, the referral is added to the **Unmatched Referrals** list for manual review.

### Resolving Unmatched Referrals

When a referral has multiple possible advocate matches, it appears in the **Unmatched Referrals** list.

Each entry shows the available matches, including:

* Advocate name
* Advocate's email address or phone number
* Campaign

To resolve an unmatched referral:

* Open the match dropdown to view the available advocate matches
* Select the correct advocate
* Click the **Attach** button

Once you select a match:

* The referral is removed from the **Unmatched Referrals** list
* The referral is connected to the selected advocate and campaign
* The resolved referral appears on the Global Subscriber List like any other subscribers
