Group Payouts

Group payouts allow multiple unlocked rewards to be accumulated and released together—either manually or automatically—once a specific threshold is reached.

This is useful for minimizing payout frequency, especially when issuing monetary rewards.

How It Works

When group payouts are enabled:

  • Each unlocked reward is logged individually in the Reward Logs

  • ReferralHero accumulates these rewards into a group reward, visible in the Group Payouts section

You can click on any row in the Group Payouts tab to view full details on the Group Payout Reward Details page.

Example 1

Reward 1:

  • Reward Value: $25 (fixed amount)

  • Reward Delivery: Group payout ON, held until $75 is reached

In this setup:

  • Each $25 reward appears as a separate entry in Reward Logs

  • A group reward is created and shown in Group Payouts

  • Once the total reaches $75 (3 × $25), the group reward is released

Example 2

Reward 1: Unlocks at 1 referral, reaching conversion event 1, $5, Group payout ON Reward 2: Unlocks at 1 referral, reaching conversion event 2, $10, Group payout ON

In this setup:

  • All rewards with group payout enabled will be combined into a single group reward

  • For the “held until” delivery method, the group reward is released once the total meets or exceeds the defined threshold

  • A single email/SMS is sent when the group reward is delivered

  • Group merge tags will display the total combined value of the group reward

NOTES:

Merge Tags for Reward Emails

  • %group_payout_reward_value% — For grouped rewards. Displays the total value of the group payout.
